Concept Design

The stirrings of form, guided by dialogue and symbolism. Every commission begins with an exchange of words, images, feelings, that coax your idea into being. Whether sparked by an existing concept or an undefined mood, our artisan will explore with you the story you wish to tell. Visual prompts may include symbolic references, historic materials, thematic sketches, or texts from your world and ours. It is a collaborative evocation, guided by your intent and our atmosphere. The result is not a fixed design, but a magnetic direction.

Preliminary Plans

Once the concept has found its footing, we begin selecting scale, construction style, and materials. This stage often involves tangible choices: leather aged to a bruised patina, glass veined like dusk, etched acrylic that catches shadow. You’re offered physical samples and visual previews, where possible, each tied to their symbolic and sensory qualities. We discuss how materials behave, how they reflect light, how they will age with use. It’s where aesthetic meets engineering, and where your story begins to take shape in matter.

Working Drawings & Consents

A design emerges and is bound by ritual agreement. After the plan settles, we render a final design proposal. This might include annotated drawings, digital mock-ups, or layered mood compositions that show your artifact from multiple angles. At this stage, you have space to ask for refinement or adjustment if it needs deeper clarity, or a proportion need rebalancing. Once everything feels aligned, you approve the design and offer a down payment. This act is more than transactional, it marks the transition from concept to incarnation. The workshop begins its slow workings.

Chosing Your Builder

The workshop breathes. Materials are transformed, hour by hour. Crafting unfolds in careful stages, often spanning days or weeks depending on complexity. Each material has its own rhythm; leather is cut, burnished, and stitched; glass is shaped, leaded, and soldered; resin or acrylic is etched under beam or hand. Some processes are silent, others full of hum and heat. You may receive glimpses of progress through photos, journal notes, or quiet updates. No shortcuts are taken. The workshop holds the piece until it’s fully resolved, both structurally and symbolically.

Delivery

The artifact leaves our hands. It carries our care. Upon completion, the piece is inspected, photographed, and packaged with reverence. It may be accompanied by a provenance card, poetic inscription, or short note of lore, depending on your preferences and its nature. We also archive the piece, preserving final imagery and description in our records or sharing excerpts in the Shop Journal. Though the artifact departs, it remains part of the Workshop’s memory.
